About Luke
Luke is completing a PhD in social psychology and forensic linguistics, specialising in the language used for social influence—the process by which individuals alter their attitudes, behaviours, or beliefs through social interactions. Luke's research examines the words, sentences, responses, psychological tactics and manipulation in written communication. Focus areas include detailed linguistic scrutiny to detect and counter psychological exploitation in inter-personal persuasion, social engineering, romance fraud, and how human nature influences our decision making.
Additionally, Luke is a certified philosophical consultant (NPCASSOC) applying philosophical theories and logic-based methods to deconstruct and examine arguments, beliefs, ideologies, and attitudes—both our own and those of others. By integrating linguistics with philosophical deconstruction, insight into the motivations and ideologies that drive people to think and behave the way they do are revealed through exploring narratives. Understanding 'humans and their language' bolsters positions in understanding social dynamics, detect psychological exploitation, have stronger debates, confidence in consultations, and improved ability to work with people, and ourselves.
My aim
Luke helps clients understand the motivations, beliefs, and language that shape social interactions. By analysing communication tactics, Luke teaches clients to identify manipulative language, deconstruct arguments, and improve persuasive and trust-building skills. This enhances their social dynamics, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, strengthening both personal and professional relationships.
""We are all social creatures, bound not only by shared spaces but by the unseen threads of connection, power, and the drive to belong, fiercely woven into the core of human nature."
